The old auto wreck yard property adjacent to the junction of 183^rd and Bothell-Everett Hwy has a new owner. Washington University Prep plans to begin building a new school facility on the property in 2018 with classes opening in the fall of 2019. The auto yard closed close to 15 years ago, followed by a lengthy hazardous material cleanup effort that concluded several years ago.

If you are not familiar with University Prep, they are a grade 6 through 12 private school in north Seattle with a mission of committing development of each student’s potential to become an intellectually courageous, socially responsible citizen of the world. The current North Seattle location of University Prep has grown to an enrollment of over 500 students. Current plans are to create a second campus on this Bothell property to meet the demand for more students. The number of students planned at this new campus is not known at this time. Yet, Foxwood Meadows residents will have to deal with construction, equipment and crews near the site beginning sometime next year.
